The Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (TAMISEMI), in collaboration with Educate! Tanzania, has announced 400 contract teaching opportunities for qualified graduates to teach Business Studies in secondary schools across Tanzania.
This initiative is part of a project aimed at improving the teaching and learning of Business Studies in line with Tanzania’s Education and Training Policy of 2014 (2023 Edition) and the revised Secondary Education Curriculum. The program seeks to strengthen entrepreneurship skills among students and enhance the quality of Business Studies education in schools with critical teacher shortages.
Available Positions
Position: Contract Business Studies Teacher (Volunteer Contract)
Number of Vacancies: 400
Duty Stations: Secondary schools with high teacher demand in the following regions:
- Arusha
- Kilimanjaro
- Manyara
- Simiyu
- Kagera
- Geita
- Tabora
- Dodoma
- Morogoro
- Pwani
- Dar es Salaam
Successful applicants will be deployed and supervised by Local Government Authorities throughout the duration of the program.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a government-recognized institution in one of the following fields:
- Bachelor of Education in Business Studies / Business Education
- Bachelor of Commerce (BCom)
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
- Bachelor of Economics
- Bachelor of Arts in Economics
- Other Business-Related Degree Programs
Additional Qualifications
Applicants should:
- Have a strong academic background in business-related subjects.
- Be capable of using computers for basic teaching and learning activities.
- Be willing to work in secondary schools facing significant teacher shortages.
General Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a Tanzanian citizen.
- Be aged 42 years or below.
- Possess a National Identification Number (NIDA).
- Not be employed by the Government or any other institution.
- Not have been dismissed or retired from public service due to disciplinary misconduct.
- Be prepared to remain at the assigned school throughout the implementation period of the program.
- Submit all required supporting documents through the application system.
Required Documents

- Application letter.
- Birth certificate.
- Form Four certificate.
- Form Six certificate (where applicable).
- Degree certificate and relevant academic transcripts.
- National ID (NIDA) details.
- Any other supporting documents required by the system.
Applicants who completed secondary education outside Tanzania must obtain an Equivalence Number beginning with “EQ” from the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA). Those who studied at foreign universities must also ensure their qualifications are properly recognized.

Selected candidates will be assigned to schools with the greatest need for Business Studies teachers. Transfers or changes of duty stations will not be permitted during the implementation period of this volunteer contract program.
