Job Summary
The Local Sales Manager will be responsible for driving market development, expanding distribution channels, managing key customer relationships, and leading the local sales team to achieve sales targets and strengthen the company’s market presence across Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development & Sales Growth
- Manage overall market development activities across Tanzania.
- Expand and strengthen sales channels and distributor networks.
- Maintain strong relationships with distributors and key stakeholders.
- Develop and manage relationships with large-scale farms and strategic clients.
- Promote company products and increase market penetration.
Sales Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement regional sales plans aligned with annual sales targets.
- Coordinate product stocking and inventory planning within assigned regions.
- Conduct regular customer visits and maintain strong client engagement.
- Organize field demonstration trials and promotional campaigns to support product adoption.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to maximize revenue growth.
Market Management & Business Operations
- Oversee end-to-end order processing and follow-up activities.
- Manage product pricing and maintain market discipline.
- Conduct competitor analysis and market intelligence gathering.
- Ensure timely collection of accounts receivable.
- Identify new business opportunities and emerging market trends.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, supervise, and motivate the local sales team.
- Conduct regular sales training and capacity-building sessions.
- Organize field visits and provide on-the-job coaching.
- Support business negotiations and customer acquisition efforts.
- Drive continuous improvement in regional sales performance and brand visibility.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Mandatory Requirements
- Proven experience in agrochemical sales within the Tanzanian market.
- Strong understanding of crop diseases, pests, agrochemical products, and agricultural production systems.
- Good knowledge of local agrochemical sales channels, distributor networks, and farming communities.
- Fluency in both English and Swahili.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to independently develop new clients and maintain existing accounts.
- Strong understanding of Tanzanian agrochemical market dynamics, pricing strategies, and sales models.
- Results-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working under pressure.
- Willingness to travel extensively and conduct field visits across Tanzania.
