The Iringa District Council has officially announced five temporary employment opportunities for qualified residents of Iringa Region. The vacancies are for the position of Revenue Collector (Mkusanya Mapato) and are intended to strengthen revenue collection activities across the district.
According to the announcement issued by the District Executive Director of Iringa District Council on 10 June 2026, successful candidates will be engaged on a temporary basis and deployed to various locations within the councilβs jurisdiction.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Be a Tanzanian citizen.
- Be between 25 and 40 years old.
- Have completed at least Form Four (Secondary Education).
- Be able to use a smartphone effectively.
- Be willing to work in villages and different areas within Iringa District.
- Possess good character and have no criminal record involving moral misconduct.
- Have a National Identification Card (NIDA) or voterβs identification card.
- Have no previous experience in revenue collection activities within Iringa District Council.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Collecting taxes, levies, and other council revenues.
- Ensuring all collected funds are deposited into the bank on the same day.
- Collecting revenue through Point of Sale (POS) machines and issuing official council receipts.
- Ensuring revenue collection machines remain operational and connected online at all times.
- Monitoring and inspecting tax and levy payment points.
- Taking appropriate action against individuals who violate laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Performing any other duties assigned by supervisors.
Salary and Benefits
The council stated that remuneration will be determined according to the terms and conditions that will be agreed upon by both parties.
